This policy explains what information BEAM NOTE collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It covers the BEAM NOTE browser extension and the website at beamnoteapp.com (together, the “Service”).

We do not collect your browsing history. A page is only recorded when you attach a note to it.

We do not sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or use your content to train AI models. BEAM NOTE's use of information collected by the extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We share information only with the service providers that run the Service, each under contract to use it solely for us:

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users or the public, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (in which case this policy continues to apply and we will notify you).
Google user data. If you sign in with Google, we request only basic profile scopes (name, email, profile picture). The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your data is stored on servers in the United States (Supabase, US West region) and is subject to United States law. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you consent to this transfer.
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access to your content is restricted by database-level rules to your own account. Content is not end-to-end encrypted; our staff can access it only to assist you at your request, to investigate a security incident, or where the law requires.
If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you by email without undue delay.
You can access, correct, export or delete your information at any time by emailing support@beamnoteapp.com from the address on your account. We respond within 30 days and do not charge for these requests.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland. We process your information to perform our contract with you; for security logs, on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the Service safe; and for crash reports, usage counts and website analytics, on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time under Manage preferences in the extension or Cookie settings on the website. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
California and other US states. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and the categories it falls in, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, and we do not collect sensitive personal information beyond your sign-in credentials. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We verify requests against the email address on your account and respond within 45 days. The extension does not use cookies and does not track your browsing. Outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the extension sends crash reports and usage counts as part of using it (see Section 1), and says so before you start. Inside those regions it sends them only if you allow them, and you can change that at any time under Manage preferences in the extension. The extension works out your region from your device's time zone.
The website uses only the cookies needed to operate it and, where enabled, analytics cookies that help us understand how the site is used. Analytics never include your notes. We do not use advertising cookies and do not permit third parties to track you on our website. We honor “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control signals.
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
The Service may contain links to websites we do not operate. This policy does not cover those sites; their own privacy policies apply.
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects what we collect or who can see it, we will notify you in the extension or by email before it takes effect.
